Sun Moon Lake en

Sunshine, mild climate, a space for our tent right next to the lake, white and grey cranes fly by, plus WLAN reasonably nearby at the most beautiful Starbucks cafe in the whole wide world.

Yesterday we had the whole campground for ourselves, now, at the weekend it is going to be quite crowded, as many Taiwanese will be spending their weekend here.

I believe Japanese and Taiwanese people to have about the same way of holiday making – get to a place, take pictures, and move on. Taiwanese people mostly stay in their country, I think it is not a very travelling nation (anyone who knows better, please correct me). Anyway, the manager of the campground was very astonished as we told him that we where staying for 5 nights…

So we had a quite relaxing time, going for walks, washing, walking, and so on.

Is it possible for a lake to have tides? Sun moon lake is having what looks like tides, the higth of the water is varying by what must be huge amounrs of more and less water, and it has got small waves, even without boats passing. Misterious (In Palau we learned, that lakes have tides when they are connected to the see. Even the secluded and famous jellyfish lake has tides, delayed from those of the sea because there are no directly connecting channels, but water filters through the porous limestone.)
